چکیده

The existence two S-dual descriptions of (N,1) string bound states suggests that the strong coupling behaviour of electric flux lines in large N 2D SYM theory has a dual description in terms of weakly coupled IIB string theory. In support of this identification, we propose a dual interpretation of the SYM loop equation as a perturbative string Ward identity, expressing the conformal invariance of the corresponding boundary interaction. This correspondence can be viewed as a weak coupling check of the matrix string conjecture. Introduction Consider the large N limit of 1+1-dimensional N = 8 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with gauge group U(N), described by the Lagrangian (here and in most of this paper we omit all fermionic fields) S = ∫ dX tr [ 1 g2 YM F 2 αβ + (DαΦ ) − g YM [Φ,Φ] ] . (1) with i = 2, . . . , 9. This model can be viewed as the dimensional reduction of ten dimensional N = 1 SYM theory, where Φ represent the 8 transverse components of the ten-dimensional gauge potential Aμ. We will be interested in giving a string interpretation of the loop equation of motion [1, 2] of the Wilson loop average W [X] = 〈

A toy model of Polyakov duality

Polyakov has conjectured that Yang–Mills theory should be equivalent to a noncritical string theory. I pointed out, based on the work of Marchesini, Ishibashi, Kawai and collaborators, and Jevicki and Rodrigues, that the loop operator of the Yang–Mills theory is the temporal gauge string field theory Hamiltonian of a noncritical string theory. In the present note I explicitly show how this work...

A new virtual leader-following consensus protocol to internal and string stability analysis of longitudinal platoon of vehicles with generic network topology under communication and parasitic delays

In this paper, a new virtual leader following consensus protocol is introduced to perform the internal and string stability analysis of longitudinal platoon of vehicles under generic network topology. In all previous studies on multi-agent systems with generic network topology, the control parameters are strictly dependent on eigenvalues of network matrices (adjacency or Laplacian). Since some ...

Global conjugate gradient method for solving large general Sylvester matrix equation

In this paper, an iterative method is proposed for solving large general Sylvester matrix equation $AXB+CXD = E$, where $A in R^{ntimes n}$ , $C in R^{ntimes n}$ , $B in R^{stimes s}$ and  $D in R^{stimes s}$ are given matrices and $X in R^{stimes s}$  is the unknown matrix. We present a global conjugate gradient (GL-CG) algo- rithm for solving linear system of equations with multiple right-han...

AN ALGORITHM FOR FINDING THE EIGENPAIRS OF A SYMMETRIC MATRIX

The purpose of this paper is to show that ideas and techniques of the homotopy continuation method can be used to find the complete set of eigenpairs of a symmetric matrix. The homotopy defined by Chow, Mallet- Paret and York [I] may be used to solve this problem with 2""-n curves diverging to infinity which for large n causes a great inefficiency. M. Chu 121 introduced a homotopy equation...

String field theory Hamiltonians from Yang-Mills theories

Marchesini showed that the Fokker–Planck Hamiltonian for Yang-Mills theories is the loop operator. Jevicki and Rodrigues showed that the Fokker– Planck Hamiltonian of some matrix models cöıncides with temporal gauge non-critical string field theory Hamiltonians constructed by Ishibashi and Kawai (and their collaborators). Thus the loop operator for Yang–Mills theory is the temporal gauge Hamilt...
